My current research focuses on Jewish immigrants who entered the United States through Galveston, Texas, in the early twentieth century. The Galveston Immigration Movement (1907-1914) attempted to redirect the flow of Jewish migration from Europe through Texas so it could more readily be distributed throughout the country.

I’m interested in learning more about the immigrants themselves — what happened to them after they arrived in “hinterland” communities — and about the communities they entered.
